Well, ok, it’s the Caulfield Beanie, but close enough for alliterative awesome, I think. Cooper Circle Caulfield Beanie This was one of those times when I really wondered if I had gone ’round the bend. A visit from my knitting friend from Philly over the 4th of July weekend has again ignited my Will to Knit, and I picked up my in-progress owls sweater with a renewed interest. I am supposed to be going to Rhinebeck for the first time with this friend and her Philly knitting [...] ‘Round about March of last year, I took some photos of a sweater in progress and posted them here. A sweater that had originally been intended as a Valentine’s Day present, but that promptly hibernated through some serious life changes for us, as well as the tail end of my last couple of years [...] This is what happens when the twain shall meet: I took far too long knitting this sweater for a wee dude born a couple months ago — so long that I was beginning to be afraid it would be too small for him by the time I cast off, if I didn’t get [...]
True to form, I did not finish my husband’s sweater in time for Valentine’s Day, but I DID manage to get a photo of the very love-appropriate cables on this thing. I’m knitting Beck, from Jane Ellison’s Queensland Collection Book 9, using some Skye Tweed. (Ravelry links; [...] In Case of Ransom A Post! AND a finished object! Is it the Apocalypse?!? Sophie's Unoriginal Inaugural Hat Living in the D.C. metropolitan vicinity made it feel pretty imperative to us to attend the Inauguration on the 20th. In the interests of being as prepared as we could be, I decided that [...] I have a new camera, finally, that I don’t yet know how to use properly; my knitting has been even more flighty than usual — lots of picking up, putting down, casting on, ripping out; but nothing of any particular substance to report. In desperation, I may have gone Stephanie’s way and resorted to the [...] You know how it goes. The mojo waxes, wanes, waxes again; you’re knitting along but it’s mostly just shapeless blob, nothing to speak of that you can capture in a photograph. Or you finally finish something after months of inactivity, only to find the object whisked away by the recipient to be worn with [...] Who can keep track when in the grip of illnesses like these? Handspun Nereid mitts were begun.
Then I made of the mistake of going to the local-to-my-office yarn shop, Stitch D.C., to pick up some lace Addi needles. This weekend, I: Saw Kung Fu Panda with my husband, four year old, and eighteen year old. Score on all counts — wonderful movie, definitely one we will want to own as soon as it’s available.
